I remember it only too vividly. It seems like yesterday. Let's see...eight years old I was 1964. I also had a SWEET candy apple green Schwinn Sting Ray (got it for my birthday!). No sissy streamers, though (sorry velogirl). No parents or siblings to help, so I just took it into the back yard and tried to learn to ride in the grass. It was tough.

Then Ken, one of my friends (He was a lot older than me by about nine months, and he was taller too), took me to the school so I could ride on the smooth asphalt. No problem!
