Day 20/Ride 18 - 125 miles. 70F@start/89F@ end. Low winds and humidity - still very rideable weather but with a hint of upcoming summer conditions. Today route was the New Orleans-Ponchatoula-out and back brevet route. This included riding the northern section of yesterday's group ride/300k route after reaching LaPlace. As I've mentioned before, Hwy 51 is a desolate road with little traffic - great in one sense, not so much in another. I saw no passing cars during the repairs of by the 3 flats that occured today. Had something serious happened on the ride, I could have been out there alone for a while. Shrug - such is the rando/distance-rider's life.

All 3 flats were rear tire, slow leak events, small wire punctures in different places. These were my first flats, I think, far on this challenge. I've been pretty lucky with that so far.

Started the ride later than normal for me, about 8am, consequently finished later than usual - in the heat of the afternoon. I don't think I'm going to want to be doing that much more as the summer progresses.
