We're doomed. There is no road positioning, no blinky, no vest or jersey ("Jersey" - ha!) that can compete with 200 dairy cows in a conspicuity contest. If you can fail to notice a herd. . .
I was in charge of building about 40 of the first cellular systems in small cities and rural areas of the U.S. I actually thought we were doing a good thing. If I had known what was going to happen, I would have turned to something less dangerous and destructive -- maybe selling heroin.

"What if we fail to stop the erosion of cities by automobiles?. . . In that case, we Americans will hardly need to ponder a mystery that has troubled men for millennia: What is the purpose of life? For us, the answer will be clear, established and for all practical purposes indisputable: The purpose of life is to produce and consume automobiles."
~Jane Jacobs, The Death and Life of Great American Cities
