Bikes: Current: 1961 Elswick Lincoln Imp, Dayton Elite, 2024 Spa Audax, Former: 2003 Ridgeback Bullit- frame broke beyond repair

Hi all,
I have just disconered this forum by chance doing a search for Lincoln Imp.
It's nice to discover that there are others out there still riding these bikes, I inherited my Imp from my dad when I was about 14, used to use it to go to school etc, but that was a long time ago, turned 50 now! I had to deal with embarrassed children about 8 years ago, refusing to be seen out with me on the bike, hence the 2003 Ridgeback Bullit.
Many years ago I did some research, partly because I was doing up a Dayton Elite, and discovered mine was a 1961 model.
The Imp is still in the original black paint, (with I believe some remnants of olympic rings) Comparing it to the pictures above, mine had GB sidepull brakes, and quite a different gear change lever, and I believe the badge was a more silver colour than the one shown (whether that can help with dating I dont know)

Sadly in my mad youth some of the original bits were replaced, the original Cyclo Benelux MkVII was initially replaced with a slightly newer version which didn't have the enameled logo, and then a more modern mechanism. The old cottered cranks are long gone and replaced with a more modern cotterless chainset, and front changer, the steel rims with wide flange hubs (were they Harden Hubs?) replaced with Alloy rims and hubs. Despite all of this I still find it comfortable to ride, and have taken it over various off road routes that many claim you need suspension for.
I don't know if I have any photos of the bike, but if you would like one for the record, if only of the frame colours etc I could arrange to get one.
