I should qualify that by saying any contemporary, hollowtechII shimano road cranks will fit. Shimano made the BB86/bb92 stuff to compete with bb30 and address some ppl's concerns re: external BBs. The idea is, you take the same oversized bearings, but press them INSIDe the frame, rather than let em hang out, exposed. The 86 is equivalent to a 68mm shell with outboard hollowtechII bb. The 92 corresponds to the 73mm setup found on their MTB cranks. the spindle length and diameter is the same. I was happy when i heard this, b/c it means we can put new BB86 cranks into "old style" frames with euro BBs so long as hollowtechII external BBs are available.
but, to answer your question: no, I've never tried it. I will put off buying a bb86 pressfit frame for as long as i possibly can.
