We have bikes in our shop with BB86 bottom brackets equipped with current Hollowtech II cranksets such as 105, Ultegra, etc., and some with FSA cranks. The crankset's spindle diameter has to be 24mm in diameter, which is what Hollowtech II cranks have.
Here are a couple of pics of a Shimano BB86 bottom bracket unit (actually, after looking at the pics, these pics are of a similar Shimano BB91 bb). These new press-in Shimano bb's are quite similar to the new PressFit 30 bottom bracket in that the bearings are pressed in, but are encased in a shell. The difference With Shimano's BB86 is that it's designed for a 24mm diameter spindle, while PressFit 30 is designed for a 30mm diameter spindle (i.e, BB30 cranksets will work with PressFit 30). Also, the bb shell width for BB86 is 86mm, while PressFit 30, like BB30, uses a 68mm shell width.
