looks to me as if the OP is merging onto another roadway from the one he is on, as evidenced by the fact that he would have to cross the roadway to get to the right side of the road he is entering. thus, the truck has the right of way and the OP has the duty to yield. i don't see any confusion or grey area on this one at all.
