there's no "2 1/2 foot wide bikelanes" on that street!

More than being at the meeting, I ride that road regularly; it is on the main route to the suburbs south of town (Cresswell and Cottage Grove) as well as providing an alternative route to the suburbs east of town (Pleasant Hill and Dexter) and being part of several recreational loops of varying distances (100 km, 200 km, 300 km and 400 km) that I ride every week. I don't care what that bad joke of a bike/ped plan says, it is pretty easy to see that there is a bike lane there. Come on Bek. To quote a former President, "Use the Google." You can either use the streetview or turn on the bike feature to see that there is indeed a bike lane there. If you use the street view, you will even see that it is how I have described it.
Perhaps Bek's confusion is the fact that there aren't "bike lanes" on E. Amazon Dr., there is just a southbound bike lane, singular. Same situation with W. Amazon Dr., it has only a northbound bike lane. If people like me were the only ones riding on those roads (just passing through), having to change sides of the creek to change directions wouldn't be a problem. However, the folks who live on the hillside east of E. Amazon Dr. are a bit annoyed that they have to deal with this situation.
Your hostility is out of place here anyway, Bek. I actually believe we are very likely on the same side here as far as final outcome goes. Take a look at what currently exists on the ground on East and West Amazon Drives and tell me what you would propose, given the facts as noted. While you're at it, take a look at the situation on Hilyard from 30th to 39th and let me know what you think would be the best possible build to improve it for cyclists. Be specific, don't just say something about proper planning for bicycles. Tell me exactly what you think would be the correct implementation. Who knows, maybe I'll bring it to the next meeting and it will be what is done.
