Well it finally happened. Riding to work yesterday afternoon in a light rain when my tire caught the side of the bike path and I laid it down. My first thought was "well that wasn't so bad" then I took a look at my bike and well it wasn't pretty. Front rim was totally bent to hell, and the front brake had some serious damage as well. Luckily a guy saw me fall and gave me a lift the last mile to work in his pickup truck. Needless to say it sucked, but took the bike in to the local LBS got a new rim, fixed the brake and tomorrow morning I'm back on it! Was quite the experience, I think the worst part was the withdrawal from not being able to ride in today.
