OP if you chop the drops off, do flip your handlebars so the horns raise up.
Seeing something on the street sure doesn't make ME think just because I saw someone do something it must be a good idea.
If the OP can't get in the drops, the bike doesn't fit right.
Don't take a hacksaw to it. That's like complaining the roof on your clown car is to low and sawing it off because you're too tall.
