Based on my own experience, I would say definitely "Yes," it is ok to not lube the bike immediately after a rain ride.

I have almost never cleaned and lubed my daily riders immediately after getting wet, and have never experienced poor drivetrain performance, component failure, or excessive rusting due to that. My bikes always ride well and look good.

It may be true that getting a bike wet shortens the life of some components, but short of a full tear-down and cleaning, I doubt there is anything to be gained by moving up the cleaning and lubing schedule a couple of days.

As long as you make the effort to keep the bike clean and lubed, you should have many, many trouble-free years of excellent performance.
