You're missing the best riding in the state. The cycle friendly cities (i.e. Portland, Corvallis, and Eugene) are actually pretty sucky to ride in. There may be bike lanes everywhere and clean roads but too many things break your rhythm. The sticks are a lot more fun and problems are rare.
