Believe me: you're missing out.
Cities are very nice places to ride, or, at least they can be. But variety is the spice of life. And even if you ignore the wonderful climbing opportunities, the fantastic Cascade (or northern Pacific) scenery, the fresh air, the immersion in nature ... you'll encounter less rudeness out in the boonies than you will in the city.
