Thanks for all your info.... so basically this is kind of how these forks/bike was designed?? Basically not with a modern stem like this?? So as to allow the rider to have some sort of comfort?? So he/she is not arched over??

Like I said, the forks are from a track frame (I'm still riding the track frame now), and are 650 wheel size, as it is the stem is going to be sticking out way too much for my liking.. is there any other way around this, or is it to basically get a shorter stem neck??

And/or will a shorter stem neck not provide the level of 'tightness' I need???
