Modern cable housings don't fit those, so it's not a great solution. My solution is to use MAFAC brake levers with adjusters so you can just use a step down ferrule at the bridge.
that's similar to how i did—not the Mafac part, but the ferrule part—in the first place.
unfortunately, the ferrule didn't fit in the hole either. please see the 5th pic from the top in
this page.
