Harlequin bar tape.

Figure it's time I figured it out, have kids asking at the coop. Ordered a bar's worth of white and a bar's worth of black (didn't want to fox with mismatched blues) cotton tape and new hoods for this-



Should be coming today. Have you ever wrapped bars like this? Any tips/hints/whatever? Will be going off of this site, which doesn't seem to suck. Style advice- full checkerboard, or just the tops or something like in the tutorial?
