What's really interesting to me is that, since I've been working hard on my position and other conservation factors, that conservation has helped a lot even when climbing at very modest speeds. My
PR on one of our benchmark climbs here (9-Mile hill) was in January: 17.9mph @ 298w. A week prior to that I had done only 16.1mph @ 278w. My last two times up were 17.0 @ 268 and today 17.2 @ 275. I'm in the drops a lot more climbing, I'm using other people better, and I'm being smoother when responding to surges. That ride in January was just one of those days we strive for that rarely happen. I had tremendous power (for me), and sure wish I knew why.
