Day 33/Ride 29. 121 miles. The local randos are doing this ride starting at 2pm - I think they are crazy, starting inthe heat of the afternoon...not me! Harahan-LaPlace-Ponchatoula and return. It's getting war out there - high 80s already heading into low 90s. Winds are now from the South so they'll have a slight tailwind going out but face a headwind on the way back - for me it was pretty stagnant air. And finishing a ride at midnight after starting in mid-afternoon just doesn't strike me as the way to do things.... obviously, I'm different.

Overall, it was a decent ride. Physically, the ride wasn't much of a physical challenge. I'm not sore and I wasn't drained dry upon my return. Tomorrow's another century and we'll see how that goes.

Used a new to me helmet mirror - a 2.25" Safe Zone.
Thing's pretty huge in comparison to the 3rd Eye mirror. That's both a plus and a minus. Plus - you can really clearly see what's behind you. Minuses - cost ($40), heavier than the 3rd Eye, and the size of the blind spot in front/left of you. I mean, 2.25" is a big ole hole in your front view. But I've been totally dissatisfied with my 3rd Eye mirror and equally dissatisfied with the mounts I've kludged up for handlebar-mounted mirrors for my GRR - the fairing and fairing mount interferes as do the bar end shifters. I'm more satisified with the new mirror than I was with the 3rd Eye but less satisfied than I was with handlebar mounted mirrors on both the trike and the DF. I prefer not to add any additional weight to my helmet/head. Shrug. I'll live.
