Foot Numbness After Twenty Minutes
Okay, fellow Clydes, I have a couple newbie questions. I'm just getting back into cycling, and went out yesterday for a short ride. After twenty minutes, both my feet were numb from the metatarsals forward. Like many bigger guys (I'm 5'11" 245lbs), I've got wider feet, and picked up a pair of Shimano MTB shoes in a 47W. They're not uncomfortable, the length is right, but I do hang off the sides a little. Would that account for the numbness? Are there other shoes that are wider, or am I looking at a custom pair like Rocket 7s or D2s? Alternately, do I just need to harden the **** up and power through? Thanks in advance for all your advice!
