Going through campus to get to stewart which becomes cayuga heights road might be a slightly more pleasant/quieter way to get out to 34 past most of the traffic.

A nice little loop is going out ellis hollow road either to Thomas rd, or just follow it all the way out to 79, then get onto thomas on the other side of 79, turn right on brooktondale road and take that back up to 79, turn left and take 79 until you hit pine tree road and turn right to get back up to the hotel.
