I once went into a LBS that carried bikes made from CF, Ti and steel. I watched a video on how CF is made. I also handled pieces of frame materials and beat, hammered, and pounded them. That practical experience showed me there's nothing magical or delicate about CF.
It's already been said but you should keep you eye on any frame just to be sure nothing is happened, whether it's cracks, rust, or dents. I learned that the hard way - I had an accident with an Al bike and kept riding it. Someone I barely knew pointed out at an intersection tiny little lines in the head tube. The tube appratently compressed from the accident and popped back into shape but caused the paint to crack. I'm sure th material was really weakened at that point.
