Univega Nuovo Sport top tube question
Here's one for folks who know about the Univegas:
I'm still seeking out a good, cheap ride here in Maine after leaving my Miyata 910 in Philly and my Peugeot PX10 in Oregon.
I've managed to dig up a good candidate, an 80s Miyata made Univega Nuovo Sport.
Its in a great bronze color, it seems to be in decent shape, looks original. I'm going by pics, which is why I'm writing. The bike is on the big side for me, he said 62cm for the seat tube. I've ridden mostly 58-60cm bikes in the past but of course it all depends on the top tube. Are the top tubes on these typically the same as seat tube length or shorter?
I can get this baby for $50, its a later model with the downtube shifters mounted above the downtube, an early aero design.
I know I can stand over a 62 JUST barely, I've ridden an old Motobecane in the past that was 62, I'm 6ft tall but have a longish inseam.
I have to drive 65 miles for the bike. Its worth it if it seems like the top tube is <60, preferably 58. Anyone know?
thanks!
