Lousy wind, lousy head cold, new ride though, got the Cannondale fixie together and am doing some good times. There is no winter here in Minneapolis, St. Paul. Folks at work are worried about what I'll do when it snows. I just say it hasn't yet and carry on. I think Thursday night it was blustery(a Whinney the Pooh day) and few flakes and bits of ice were tossed about, not unnegotiable.
With it's inevitability, I am working on getting a winter/snow bike together. Planning on using an old steel MTB frame, and a Suzue hub for the fixed gear, giving me a lower center of gravity. If the snow holds off though we will have a four month snow range rather than five to six.
The winds have been mostly westerly, meaning the colder mountain air, but we were to have a low pressure dropo down for this week out of Canada, offering up colder temps, in the 20s.
I will be changing my hours of commute in a week, I am no longer on the 4-12 shift, I'll be heading in with traffic at 7am, and coming home with traffic at 4pm. It could mean a change in my route too, added 7 miles to it for my Monday and Wednesday rides.
Vacation this week! It will be fun to just ride without having to be anywhere.
