So today while making my way to the gym old faithful sighed and gave out on me. I went to lock up my Schwinn hybrid cheapo and when I rolled her up the the bike stand I realized the rear wheel would not budge. Lo and behold the rear rim gave out and is bent so as to cause the wheel to rub against the rear brake. The bike was only 325 and supplying it with a new set of wheels is out of the question as it is just not worth shelling out 150-200 on decent set of new 700c road wheels when the bike is too small for me anyways. So I am looking for help on choosing a new fixed gear. Has to have a Chromoly frame and be rugged enough to withstand my 235 6'1" frame. I babied the Schwinn and I am looking for something that I can thrash a little on because I live in Orlando and there are not any real smooth roads that I ride on. Open to any and all suggestions in the neighborhood of 300-800 dollars preferably on the cheaper side as I would like to work on it and put a little money into it. Mainly into it for the frame but I still need something to ride as I am a working class citizen who just graduated from college and I have a crap job lol.
