If he sold you the Shimano crank extractor extension then he either did know what to charge or he was making a point to give you a great deal. That part costs dealers almost 3x the $1 you paid. There is a knock off of that same Shimano part, but it still costs me more than a buck. Indeed a good reason to like your LBS.
