be very careful with that drill and pin idea...I can't remember the details but that's setting off an alarm back in the dark recesses of my dim memory.
Though it sounds like it would be safe (and desirable) to do something like that, I seem to recall somebody pointing out (convincingly) why that was NOT a good idea.
Hope that the "somebody" chimes in with the facts.
