Great to see some old bikes still in service! Now to find a pretty blue/silver Alan in 63cm.
Okay, I ride your size or thereabouts and have a 60cm Vitus 979. The bike's joints are fine, but I'm a hard climber. Riding, I can flex the rear triangle of this bike so much it will shift. It's not the levers or the mechs. The shift levers on the bike are retrofrictions. These are flexy bikes under bigger riders. I have to go a bit gentle on it at times.

The smaller riders really liked these bikes, but there are issues for the bigger riders. And reputedly, because the bigger frames have more fulcrum to flex (and they do flex) they are more likely to come apart than smaller frames, like the relatively puny frames pictured above. In short, if you find one, go ahead and buy it, but don't pay very much. I paid 35$ for mine.

That said, the ride on these is far nicer than on any other aluminum bike I have ever ridden, none of which I liked-- aside from the Vitus. And I really, really like their looks as well. It occurs to me I haven't photographed mine built up. I'll try and do it in the next couple of days.
