I know it is personal preference, but IMO get the Madone with Apex if you decide to go with the Trek. You can get a full Apex group for $50 more than the model you linked to. The SRAM components are lighter and shift just as well as the 105. The Madone 3.1 Apex is actually more similar to the Giant Composite 2, but the Giant is $240 cheaper. The Madone 4.5 or 4.6 is closer to the Giant Composite 1 in terms of features and price.

Ride them, and if they feel the same to you, go with the model that you think looks better and/or is cheaper.
