I think I have a new favorite training tool. I got the old SS cross bike back together in monster truck form(42mm wide tires). I returned home from watching the Grand Am race at Mid Ohio today, and I had an hour left of daylight. I took the heavy, draggy sled out, and hammered the crap out of it around town, at times hoping curbs, and cutting through gravel parking lots at speed. I really like it. I got a pretty good workout on it too. I even rode past yesterday's home invasion site. I rode through some bad neighborhoods, and I was unarmed. It helped inspire me to keep the pace high.
