I have many, many instances were I had to side skirt crash debris left in intersections from collisions between motor vehicles, and I've personally seen the end results of the property damage a stop sign running motorist can do or cause. I have yet to see residential or business owners erect concrete, brick, steel, rock, protection barriers due to marauding/scofflaw cyclists.

Usually, most of our local cyclists that run stop lights and stop signs at a high rate of speed are occasional cyclists and are not representative of our main commuter base, and these occasional cyclists learn soon enough this is not the best course of action.
