You make it sound like every cyclist out there is making up their own rules, which is not the case, and the cyclists that do, will discontinue this practice after a short period of time. Unfortunately, when cyclists do follow the rules of the road, they generally will be treated to motorists who will usually resort to harassment, ridicule, or callousness.
