If you show a video of a cyclist running a stop sign to a car driver, they'll say "See? Cyclists are all law breaking idiots."
If you show a video of a car driver running a stop sign to a car driver, they'll shrug and say "Meh, everyone does it."
For some reason it's OK if you're driving a car and everyone does it, but not if you're riding a much less dangerous vehicle and everyone does it (even though not everyone does it in either car or bike)
I've seen people blow stop signs at 30 MPH in pickups without even really looking. In fact it's extremely rare to see a car actually stop at a stop sign unless there's actually cross traffic present. So rare that I don't think I actually see it happen more than a handful of times a YEAR.
