That Trek would make a great commuter. As mentioned already, I would attempt to get the price closer to the $200 mark if possible.

One nice thing this bike has is that it's already set up with fenders and a rack. You can add those to most bikes, but factor in the price of those additional components and a couple hours of futzing around with things to get them installed and now this Trek is looking like a better value.
