It's funny how riding a bike, no numbness in my left leg/foot...but if I am standing or laying down with my legs straight...leg hurts and goes numb. I have to sometimes have to get in odd postions with my leg to get to sleep and keep the numbness/pain at bay.

I was even given a temporary handicap placard for my car due to the fact walking too far or too much makes my leg go numb and is painful....I have parked in the HC space near my LBS for rides....talk about funny looks I get as I pull my bike out of the back of my Xterra and ride off with my cycling group. I have the placard for legit reasons but don't use it all that much unless parking is tough and a HC spot is open saving me a really long walk.

I have not been back to the Ortho Surgeon since before getting back riding and losing the 25 lbs. Costs me $50 copay so that is part of why I've avoided going. But I don't want them to do surgery on my hip to deal with the tear and cyst right now and I'm afraid that is what he will want to do and how it would affect my riding.
