I'm sure there are some, but it's a lot easier to be all high and mighty about your values when you're either still living with/off your parents, have no kids and nobody else you're beholden to, or have acquired a lot of money through parents or other means.

2. Check, but just one. Wife had tough pregnancy.
3. Check. Worked through university. Parents didn't pay a cent. Entered job market in the red with student loans.

But I'm not sure what you mean by "acquired a lot of money through.... other means." As in what? A job?
