$1000 will get you a 3-5 year old sweat corroded mid level tri bike these days, and the faster guys around here pay $1000 for their front wheel alone. Seriously, we have sold at least two S-works Shivs in the lat few months, that rolled out the door around 10k, including a $2500 set of rims of course

. $200 will get you basic transportation leaning towards the more decent end of things. To be competitive other than with yourself the price should be set quite a bit higher. You can't be
racing 6-7 speeds when everyone else's
training bike has had ten speeds for years already.
Sorry if this sounds elitist, I didn't start out wanting it to sound that way. It's just what I have noticed in the last couple of years, working on newer model bikes. I know enough that I am anxiously awaiting the day when I only have to work on my own bikes again. The bike shop can take care of the Wal Mart bike tune ups without me then, hehe.,,,,BD
