We've BEEN doing the Katy for awhile.

. We're new to cycling, having bought out first bikes in 40 years just last summer. A 30 mile day on gravel is still a lot for me. As much as I respect those who can do it, doing the entire trail in one shot is not in my immediate future. So far, we've covered 117 miles of the trail but we've actually ridden 189 miles with doubling back to the car. The last time out, we took a train to Hermann, rode to Jefferson City, then took the train back to Kirkwood. Our trips are more liesurely than most.
We're planning to take a train to Jefferson City, ride to Sedalia and come back on a train from there. We were going to do that this week but with heat and storms in the forecast, we decided to postpone. Our next opportunity for more than a day at a time won't be until fall.

We'd like to make it to the western end of the trail, time and weather permitting, before the end of the year.
Good luck with your ride. Are you planning to ride the whole length? East to west or west to east? How long are you planning to take?
