Don't have that combo. But when I was installing Rival on my Cross Check I ran into something similar. First make sure the cable is routed correctly on the FD. Second I had to allow a little more slack in the cable when it's in the small chainring. What was happening was as I shifted to the big chainring I would come up against the limit before the shifter clicked into the full shift position. It was locking in the trim position. A little more cable slack and I could make the shifter do a full shift.
