Thanks for all the advice. (I am still in Ohio)
I did get the wheels trued up,started stripping all the unnecessary bits & cleaning the frame.

But,I'm thinking about keeping this CrissCross as my all-rounder & continuing to
look for a race bike. The SunTour XTC drive train looks pretty trashed & I'm a little disappointed that
drop bars might not work.
What can I say, can't help it, I'm a traditionalist... Drop bars,700c wheels,cantilever brakes
on a steel frame all covered in mud are what I've been dreaming about.

That being said, it is good to know that I can use it to train & even race if
I can't find the right bike before I'm ready.
