It's a local coffee chain for me; it started in the
Public Market (Pike's Place). But the coffee is mediocre. It's never terrible, and if you're driving across country, stuck in the bowels of Ohio, you're guaranteed a drinkable cuppa joe. But ... this is the land of milk and honey, and of good espresso.
A mocha really isn't comparable to drip coffee; the home stuff would have as many calories if you loaded it down with chocolate, too. Try a cafe americano. I think a viente has 5 kCal, plus however much half and half you add, but it's good with only a little. Also, an americano is half the price of a mocha.
Yeah that's kinda what I meant. A daily brew has much lower calorie than a mocha, and it's so much cheaper to use my own coffee maker than getting a daily brew at Starbucks... daily. So eventually I stopped going.
