So, I made the switch to the PP's from the cork. There is a difference, primarily in the wet. Braking is significantly better, which makes sense, given that the cork pads do not have sipes in them to aid in evacuation of water, while the PPs do. Took them out on a ride with light rain throughout, was pleased.
Hard to tell whether dry weather braking is meaningfully improved. I did move my pads a bit closer to the rims, as part of the install, so the immediacy of braking could also play a factor (placebo).
Overall, I do think they are nice upgrade. A bit pricey, but, then, so are the wheels.
