Unfortunately, the series wanted you to suspend disbelief enough to accept that 90% of global terrorism occurs within a 50 mile radius of Burbank, CA. I was unable to do that or contend with the increasingly repetitive plot lines. That show started to suck so hard it was unwatchable, my wife and I gave up on it after 3-4 years. It was great early on, it just wore thin.
The fact that you are watching television for entertainment, and you are annoyed at the lack of diverse plots is amusing. I can't watch tv anymore, it doesn't matter what you watch it's all the same old crap over and over again. It's kind of like this thread.
