True, but is any riding really 'normal'? We all hit potholes and bumps, have to ride off curbs every now and then, etc. Stupid things happen, and it only takes one stupid little thing to ruin a frame made out of a material that, stressed the right way under even the slightest pressure (metaphorically-ish speaking), would fail. Steel is just better suited to take the abuse.
