Thank you for this picture. The Sportswagen is on my list of cars to check out if/when my '01 Subie wagon is finished. That looks a little, but not much, smaller than the back of the Subaru but I'm not happy that the current Outback is more mini-SUV than just a good ol' station wagon. With the Subaru, I can put bikes straight up with seat posts & front wheels removed, including fs mountain bikes; I've had three bikes back there plus room for duffle bags and a small cooler for a weekend trip for two.

A number of the small SUVs/Crossovers may have more cubic feet of storage behind the seats but I find that having flat square footage on the load floor is more important to how I use the car than the height of the area.
