Bikes: Cannondale Synapse '06, Mongoose titanium road bike '00--my commuter. Yes, Mongoose once made a decent ti road bike.

Underwear are fun to wear, except when cycling. Except for REI "Novara" padded boxer briefs types of underwear under shorts or pants, don't wear them. Chafed skin can just ruin your ride.
