The brakes actually seem decent, with a strong spring and existing toe-in. They are labeled on the back as "Pro-Star".
I hope my wife gets plenty of use out of it. She has only ridden it once, briefly, and so far her opinion is positive!
The brakes on my wife's WS were Pro Stars also, and they seemed to flex and felt pretty spongy. If those big mountain bike levers don't make the calipers flex, I'd say you're in great shape.
