Why would you not report it? Kids need to learn how to drive. Other peoples lives are at stake here. I'd rather not have air-headed 15 year old girls in charge of operating 4,000lb crushing machines rolling right next to me.
I think the number of drivers who know how to respond to a cyclist is limited to drivers who also cycle. Reporting it to their insurance would mean they'd likely pay more in deductible than they would just giving me some cash, then her insurance would go up like $100 a month for 2 years and her permit would likely be revoked until she was 18. I'm not trying to smash some young girls dreams. I'm sure she learned her lesson still, or would at least hope so.

The chin doesn't have any pain and the scar will hardly be visible, especially since I aspire to have a decent beard for most of my life. The rim is ruined and it looks like 10ish spokes, I'll probably have a new tire thrown in too, so about $175 should cover it, not too bad really.
