with bikes, if you don't like the price in your market, you have the choice of looking outside your market, or word of mouth/networking. agreed, however shipping would cost prohibitive, and just leaving ny will cost me $20 bucks in tolls for bridges alone.

prices around here are crazy = prices around here are not crazy at all, the market is just willing to pay more than i would like to pay. disagree. The prices this market is asking and probably getting is crazy. I just won't overpay because everyone else does. I will wait for a deal to come along for most things.

imagine you had such a bike, in that condition, and you wanted to sell it. And say similar bikes in your area were selling for $400. Would you ask $250, or $400?
i'd ask $450, this is ny after all.
