Just wondering, what is the damage on the chainstay you mentioned that neccesitates having to change it? I can't really see it in the pics.

I don't know either...and since 753 is pretty much only found on high end, valuable bikes, I wouldn't be the one to experiment.

I'd build it up as a 6sp bike - whatever mix of DA 7400, Superbe and Campagnolo you find most pleasing.
