I skipped ahead so please excuse me if this has been mentioned already.

In many instances the damage seen in the post 1 pics is caused from an impact, perhaps a curb, pot hole or something similar. Evidence on an impact would be found on the opposite side of the rim in the form of a flat spot or dent. This isn't always the case but often is.....
